PONT-CALLECK FOREST AND ITS CASTLE

THE FOREST AND THE CASTLE OF PONT-CALLECK are an old property of the Marquis of Pontcalleck. Since 1960, it is a property of the STATE.

Very beautiful forest with tree species and shrubs (birch, chestnut, hazel, pear and apple tree wild, hawthorn, holly, etc...), many plants of undergrowth and edge (honeysuckle, digital purple, fragon, wild geranium, blueberry, wild hyacinth, cuckoo flower, heather, etc...), a varied fauna (deer, badger, otter, fox, shrew, squirrel, voles, woodcock, owl, hawk, etc...), the forest of Pont-Calleck extends over 543 ha, altitude 125 m, crossed by the river "LE SCORFF", rich in trout, salmon and otters.

The Castle of Pont-Calleck is imposing in which is, to this day, a religious congregation, the Dominicans of the Holy Spirit.

At the edge of the park of the castle where it is possible to stroll, the chapel of Sainte-Anne des Bois, erected in 1865, is to be discovered.

A medieval site to be discovered during a walk in the forest.
