For pilgrims on the Way of Saint James

One of the trails to Saint James goes through Le Faouët (56) Upstream via Gourin – Le Saint, downstream towards Querrien and Quimperlé (Finistère department). It is one of the Breton trails, either from Locquirec or Moguériec, Morlaix, crossing the « Monts d’Arrée », the « Montagnes Noires » (Black mountains).
Once in Quimperlé, pilgrims can join the Pointe de Saint Mathieu trail and head towards Nantes crossing France to reach Santiago (Spain).

Rose-Anne started taking interest in the route in 2009.
She became member of the association in charge of tagging the trail.
In 2012 Rose-Anne decides to hike on one of the most renowned trails. Her 12 day expedition from Puy en Velay to Conques enchanted her and lifted her spiritually which led to her deciding to help fellow walkers find a logging to rest on their way to Santiago.
Together with the members of the association « The friends of Saint James in Morbihan) Rémi and Rose-Anne decided in 2015 to welcome travelling pilgrims in their house as the former building used for this purpose was not appropriate anymore.

The number of pilgrims increased every year and came from different horizons and parts of the globe (Brittanny, other French regions, Québec, Canada,Irland, Great Britain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Russia, The USA etc.

Meeting up with the pilgrims enabled wonderful exchanges. Rose-Anne gladly shares her experience and good advice before pilgrims set themselves again on their way to Santiago. A good action is never lost. The meeting might be brief but so enriching and fruitful. Thank you LIFE for these wise « steps ».

The Credential is the pilgrim’s passeport which is compulsory when you are being hosted in a pilgrim lodging
